Restaurant Toné Géorgien offers a genuine dive into Georgian cuisine right in the heart of Nice on Rue Meyerbeer. This spot is best for diners curious about authentic flavors from the Caucasus region, particularly those willing to explore beyond familiar French or Mediterranean staples. The atmosphere is lively and casual, frequently bustling with a crowd that appreciates home-style, hearty dishes served in a warm, unpretentious setting.

Reservations are all but essential here—securing a table via WhatsApp or SMS well in advance is common practice, as the restaurant fills quickly even shortly after opening. Once inside, expect a service pace shaped by genuine care and the intensity of demand; it’s never rushed, but it can feel a bit chaotic when the house is full. This adds to the feeling that you’re stepping into a cherished local hub rather than a polished tourist spot.

The food leans into traditional Georgian dishes like pkhali (a walnut and pomegranate salad), hearty meat skewers such as shashlik, and the ever-popular khachapuri—cheese-filled bread that many diners rave about. Complementing these are homemade wines and fresh salads that keep the overall experience balanced and genuine. Portions are generous, reflecting the home-cooked style, and afford good value for the quality and authenticity provided.

Visitors will find the restaurant especially welcoming to those new to Georgian food, as staff take time to explain dishes and customs around the meal. The vibe is relaxed yet vivacious, occasionally enhanced by traditional Georgian music or dance events that make meal times more convivial. This makes the spot ideal for groups or families wanting to share an immersive cultural meal without pretense.

Late arrivals may have a tougher time being seated, so early evenings are preferable to fully enjoy the space without the pressure of high turnover. Toné Géorgien is best appreciated by diners who enjoy hearty, vegetable-rich dishes paired with unique wines in a setting where friendliness and cultural pride shine through, even amid busy service rhythms.

Make reservations in advanced!!!! Via WhatsApp and SMS Only way to get seated… 5 mins after opening the placed is completely seated. Home made wine, roasted pork and cheese bread are all home made and delightful… but I expensive. Service is slow as the place is always crowded and chaotic… but very friendly and delicious. If you’re not familiar with the cuisine, be open and you’ll be pleasantly surprised

Georgian cuisine, to my opinion, one of the best in Europe. Everyone must try! This restaurant was recommended by a tour guide and driver in Nice who is originally from Georgia (country, not the state in USA:) So, I checked their menu online and was hoping for the chanahi dish (sort of a thick soup/ stew, made of meat (usually lamb) and eggplant, tomato, bell pepper, onion, garlic, green herbs and some seasonings). I didn’t have reservation (which is highly recommended!), the waiter said they’d serve me if I can finish my meal in 40 minutes. Since I was hungry and by myself, i said yes. I asked for chanahi and was told they don’t have it anymore and that the menu online isn’t updated. I choose harcho- meat( they had veal, but can be with beef or lamb)soup with rice, tomato paste, Georgian specific seasoning- hmeli-suneli and spicy red pepper. It looks like they adapted this dish to people who can’t eat too spicy food, which is great, so you can always add more spices to your taste. I live in New York and we have a lot of Georgian restaurants. Sometimes they make it very salty and in such case the dish is spoiled. But here they made it perfect. I haven’t tried anything else in Tone , so I can’t say anything about other dishes. Also I had a glass of red wine. The restaurant was packed, only two young waiters were serving. They looked overwhelmed. That’s why only 3 stars for the service. The restaurant open only a few hours in the evening and Sundays, I believe, it’s closed. So unusual for a person who lives in New York! Overall, highly recommended.

So friendly! Casual, fun, welcoming atmosphere. The staff explained the dishes, cooking and eating traditions nicely. Food is outstanding. I'd eat the"cheese canoe" daily if I could.

Our favourite place in Nice! Authentic Georgian homey delicious food, welcoming and caring owners and staff, quick service but nobody rushes you to leave. Even occasional georgian national dancing takes place. Nicely-sized portions for very reasonable price. Totally worth coming when you want to eat like at home, with family.

We came to Tone Georgian just a few minutes before closing, but the staff were kind enough to let us in and take our order right away. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavourful, and felt healthy, which is rare in Nice! I had a meat dish called ostry and my friend had a mix of vegetables and salads—everything was so tasty. Even though I’ve eaten at Georgian restaurants before, this one stood out. Great experience and lovely service!

We are so glad that we did a reservation in advance because all tables were seated a few minutes after opening. The food was incredibly delicious. We had a full table of tastiness. Anna was thoughtful, she was asking us about potential allergies, she recommended us the wine. We had the perfect and best night in Nice on our holiday. Would recommend 100% and we would come back for sure

We didn’t have a reservation and stopped by just before they opened for dinner service. All of the indoor tables were already reserved, but luckily we managed to get seated outside. This restaurant is popular for many reasons. First and foremost is the boss lady — she’s full of energy, moving quickly from table to table to make sure everyone is enjoying their food, even showing us the proper way to eat certain dishes. Then, of course, there’s the food itself, which is truly excellent. The veal stew was fantastic with the bread, and the pork skewer was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned to highlight its natural flavor, and delicious with the accompanying sauce. Their recommended fruit wine paired beautifully with the dishes as well. This family-run restaurant is a true gem. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Nice — just be sure to make a reservation!

One of the better national restaurants I’ve been to. As you can also see in other reviews, the real highlight is the “lady owner,” who takes such good care of all the guests and keeps the Georgian culture alive. She’ll come by your table, tell you a story, or explain how to properly eat the food the Georgian way. The food is as expected — not something that will blow you away, but definitely good and true to what you’d hope for. Certainly better than 90% of restaurants out there. Another great thing about this place is that everything on the menu is of Georgian origin — for example, there’s no Coca-Cola. Which is fantastic! I’d definitely come back here if I lived in Nice.
